Jason Cooper, founder of AC Yoga, discovered yoga in 2009 after rupturing two lumbar vertebral discs. He soon realized that he was embarking on much more than just a physical practice. Jason found himself gaining clarity he could not have previously imagined. Through breath control, holding and transitioning postures, and silencing the mind through yoga and meditation, Jason had begun his spiritual journey.
In early 2013, Jason studied yoga and meditation in Costa Rica with Marianne Wells, a student of BKS Iyengar himself. He soaked up a comprehensive education of the philosophical, psychological, spiritual, musical, anatomical, meditative, and therapeutic aspects of yoga. Jason has sat through two, ten-day Vipassana mediation courses. He is currently a student facilitator of BioDynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release under the founder, Giten Tonkov. After training with Dr. Dean Ornish in the Bay Area, CA, Jason has been a Stress Management Facilitator in The Ornish Cardiac Reversal Program. Jason previously earned his Doctorate of Pharmacy from Rutgers University in 2006, and is an avid basketball player, musician, stand-up comedian, woodworker, and loves to cook!
Jason continues to learn and progress in his own personal practice. He is a true inspiration to all those he meets. His kind and gentle nature provides the undertone, heart, and soul of AC Yoga.
